Changsha Nanfang Vocational College was officially established in 2000. It was approved by the People's Government of Hunan Province in 2003 and registered as a full-time general college by the Ministry of Education. The college is located in the southwest of Yuelu Mountain, in the University Town of Xiangjiang New District, adjacent to the thousand-year-old Yuelu Academy and famous schools such as Central South University, Hunan University, Hunan Normal University, and Hunan University of Chinese Medicine. The college is one of the first batch of higher vocational colleges in Hunan Province that have passed the talent training level assessment. In December 2013, it successfully passed the talent training level assessment of the Ministry of Education again. The college covers an area of nearly 500 acres, with a construction area of more than 200,000 square meters, total assets of 530 million yuan, and teaching equipment with a total value of more than 46 million yuan. It has 107 on-campus practice bases, including one supported by the central government; 94 off-campus internship and training bases. The college adheres to the development idea of "integration of production and education, integration of learning and training", and builds a provincial first-class private higher vocational college with professional characteristics of "digital intelligence base, aviation quality". There are currently 6 professional groups, 27 majors (including directions), forming a professional cluster system with information technology professional group as the leader, smart building and intelligent manufacturing professional groups as the two wings, civil aviation service professional group as the feature, and finance, commerce, education and art cross-integration. There is 1 provincial first-class specialty professional group, 2 municipal specialty majors; 1 provincial professional teaching team, 3 municipal vocational education skill master studios, and more than 10 provincial and municipal quality courses. In recent years, the employment rate has remained above 90%. The college has promoted employment and further study at the same time, and the "3 + 2" junior college to undergraduate work ranks among the top private colleges in the province. Students have won a total of 136 awards in various competitions such as skill competitions, including 1 second prize in the national competition and 26 first prizes in the provincial competition; the college women's basketball team participated in CUBA and won the runner-up in the Hunan Division in 2020 and the champion in 2021. Students have won more than 40 awards in provincial college student games and other events. The college adheres to the "school-enterprise cooperation to build majors and run majors well to promote employment"; innovates the "enterprise + major" talent training model, and jointly builds JD.com e-commerce, Funa Intelligent Manufacturing, Zhongchang Digital Culture and Art and other industrial colleges. It has opened special classes such as "Hainan Airlines Order Class", "Capital Airlines Order Class", "NetEase Animation Production Technology Class", and "Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Class", and implemented order-based training. The employment rate and employment quality are among the best in similar colleges.
